Paris Travel Tips for Families

My family and I have had the blessing of being able to visit France multiple times (ask me for my "France for almost Free" email). And over the years, we have compiled some tips that have made every subsequent visit easier.

I get a lot of questions from people about recommendations for visiting France, so I have created this free resource to share with you that answers a lot of FAQs but also addresses things I wish we knew during our first trips there. Like, how we could have avoided a scam during our first visit.

This could have been a novel, so I tried to keep it mostly for travel to Paris, although you'll see that I do mention some things regarding leaving Paris for other areas. And I've organized the trips into categories for:

  • What to pack, where to stay, how to dine, how to get around, how to stay safe, what to do, what to keep in mind

  • A sample itinerary that is almost exactly our itinerary for our trip planned for January 2026!

Also, I may need to create a whole lesson on French dishes to help with reading menus, so that is something I'm keeping in mind for another time.

🔑 At the end of the guide, you'll see that if you want to make your trip even MORE magical, you can start practicing some simple phrases to use when you get there. Trust me...actually being able to speak French when you're there elevates the trip to a whole new level of magic! So take advantage of my French for Travel resource as well.

(🎉 If you're a French Feast Club member, you saw my announcement that you get that for free inside the Club!)

Alrighty, here are my tips! You'll get a whole PDF guide that you can download and read like a magazine with a cup of coffee and my French Spotify playlist on in the background.

Even if you don't have a trip to Paris planned for the near future, I always say that dreaming of a trip is half the fun and makes it all the more magical when you get there! So read through my tips and tuck them away for when your travel plans become reality.

Merci, et bon voyage!
