What ages are appropriate for the French Feast Courses?

Students who are reading age will benefit most from the course.  However, I have had many families include younger children in the lessons.  As long as they can repeat after the phrases in the videos, it will be beneficial.  And since you have lifetime access to the course, younger children can have the advantage of repeating the lessons again and again!

Which course should we start with?

Accepted Answer

Although each course in the program can be a stand-alone course, I highly recommend using the Pronunciation Basics Starter Course in conjugation with the French Feast 1st course.  You can finish the starter course before going on to the Feast, or, even go back and forth between the two. That way, you can set the foundation for pronunciation but also have the satisfaction of starting to speak French right away.

How long do the lessons take?

The duration of each video lesson ranges from 12-30 minutes.

Is there a written component to the lessons?

Accepted Answer

Each course comes with a downloadable PDF that includes all the phrases and concepts learned.  Families can use these pages as copywork practice to start the exercise of writing in the French.  Other than that, there is no writing component.  Charlotte Mason encourages learning to speak before learning to write, so that is the main focus of these courses.

How should we pace the lessons?

I recommend watching one video every week or two and using another few days with the audio-only guides to review each lesson before watching the next video.

Is there a live practice option?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  Families who purchase the French Feast 1st course receive a special invitation to join the French Feast Club, where we meet monthly for live group practice.  Our once a month meetings are usually on a Wednesday at 11am PST.

Can I return a course if it's not a good fit?

Yes, I have a 100% refund policy if you are not satisfied with any course within 14 days of purchase.

What is the difference between the Self-Paced and Hybrid option?

Accepted Answer

The Hybrid program will offer monthly live practices from Aug-May and we will go over lessons from the Paris & Dessert courses at a set pace.  Families doing the Self-Paced program can go through the lessons according to their own schedule and have no live practices.
